INFORMATION
The Rev. John Hope, LRPS, was for many years a Methodist minister in Quinton, near Birmingham. He amassed a large collection of postcards and photographs, some dating from the turn of the century, which depict Quinton, Harborne and the surrounding area. When he moved to Handsworth, he donated his collection to Quinton Library, to allow local people access to it. In keeping with that aim, Quinton Local History Society, using a grant from the National Lottery's "Awards for all" scheme, commissioned this website, which now contains the most significant images from this important collection, so that they will be constantly available to the general public worldwide. It is hoped that they will be of value and interest to local historians, genealogists and anyone interested in the history of the Birmingham area.
